"Les Carrefours d'Histoire du Sport"

A literal translation of “Carrefour d’histoire du sport” is “Crossroad of sport history”. Here are the principles of this event which has been held since 1991.

Principles:

1. The “Carrefours d’histoire du sport” are now organised every other year in a different university town. The date is usually during the French autumn school holidays.

2. The aim of the conference is to promote research on a specific topic and to give scholars with all level of experience the opportunity to present their research and discuss it among peers.

3. At the end of each event, candidates are invited to present their proposition for holding the next conference.

4. The organisers work independently and are free to choose the scientific topic of the conference, to seek collaborations, to promote the information on the conference, to apply for financial support, to put together the scientific and organising committees, etc.

5. The organisers are responsible for any benefit or deficit linked to the organisation. They decide upon the price of the registration fee.
